Married student and mom of 2 needs financial help to fix house

I'm a college student and mom of two beautiful children. My husband works full time for the state and has great benefits but we are just scraping by. I know alot of people are in the same boat. We are truly blessed since we own our home and our car and truck, but we haven't had any money to repair our home. We aren't like alot of the stories on this site. The walls aren't collapsing, we don't have any major problems, but the upkeep is a serious issue. The house is cinderblock and has leaks behind the kitchen sink which have caused damage to the walls. The house really needs a new coat of paint, and we desperately need to put a new furnace in the back of the house. Last year, my family helped us pay over $2000.00 to put a new furnace in the front of the house but the back of the house remains cold. The back furnace works but it sits right against a closet and could start a fire! We haven't used it yet this winter because we fear it's a hazard. We have an eight month old daughter who is bundled up with lots of blankets, and we worry about SIDS. We are very blessed but need a little extra to do basic repairs we are unable to keep up with. Can anyone help or refer us to anyone who can?
